When Lars Hansen sold Charles Ingalls his land, this barn was on the property.  Christmas presents were hidden and many things were built in this barn, including cradles for new babys, repaired wagon wheels, signs, saddles and all kinds of carpentry. This was also a place of started fires, accidents, and private conversations. Lives were started and ended here.  Many events took place inside this barn, making this building the center for much activity.  Barns were very important structures during this time and this barn served the Ingalls family well.
